The Ruthven City Council, of the City of
day of September, 2007, at 6:30 PM, in regular session, in the Council Chambers at City Hall, pursuant to law and to the rules of said council.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Charles Oppedal, in the Chair, and the roll being called, the following members were present:
PRESENT: VerHelst, Henningsen, Hawk, Schoning.
ABSENT: Bentz.
VerHelst motioned and Henningsen seconded to approve the consent agenda items as presented. Motion carried with all members present voting aye.
Discussion was held in regards to the damaged pool cover.
Schoning resolved and Hawk seconded to approve the Road Use Reports for fiscal year 2006-2007. Resolution 16-07 was passed and approved with the following votes:
Ayes: VerHelst, Henningsen, Hawk, Schoning
Nays: None
Schoning resolved and VerHelst seconded to approve the Annual Financial Report for fiscal year 2006-2007. Resolution 17-07 was passed and approved with the following votes:
Ayes: VerHelst, Henningsen, Hawk, Schoning
Nays: None
Discussion was held in regards to changes with the building plans for Derricksons new business.
Discussion was held about 2 city streets that have been cut by residents due to repairs. Motion was made by Hawk and seconded by VerHelst to prepare an ordinance requiring a $300.00 deposit to be pre-paid by city residents that need to cut into city streets for repairs, with any costs above $300.00 being billed following the repairs. Motion carried with all members present voting aye.
Discussion was held in regards to bids for tree removal. Motion was made by Hawk and seconded by VerHelst to approve
Discussion was held about the fire hydrant in alley behind city hall. Motion was made by Henningsen and seconded by Brian to approve the bid to add an additional hydrant with street access. Motion carried with all members present voting aye.
The city website was discussed. Business information forms went out and are coming back in to be added to the website.
The Tree’s Please Grant trees that were given to town residents were discussed as some were not planted correctly.
A motion to adjourn was made at 7:25 by Schoning and seconded by Henningsen. Motion carried with all members voting aye.
