The Ruthven City Council, of the City of
Day of November, 2007, at 6:30 PM, in regular session, in the Council Chambers at City Hall, pursuant to law and to the rules of said council.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Pro-Tem Schoning, in the Chair, and the roll being called, the following members were present:
PRESENT: VerHelst, Henningsen, Hawk, Schoning, Bentz.
ABSENT: Mayor Charles Oppedal.
Bentz motioned and Hawk seconded to approve the consent agenda items as presented. Motion carried with all members present voting aye.
Bob Lee was present as a representative of the Ruthven Fire Department Agency to request financial help from the city towards the purchase of the new fire truck. Discussion followed and council will take further action within the next month.
Discussion was held in regards to billing for the extra repairs needed at the
After discussion on the estimate for asbestos removal and disposal on the city owned building, motion was made by Hawk and seconded by Bentz to approve the estimate and go ahead with the removal of asbestos from the building. Motion carried with all members present voting aye.
Council discussed ideas for possible grant projects for 2007 Palo Alto County Gaming Grants. Council again discussed removal or restoration of a city owned building and also the future possibility of a new community center building and parking area.
Council was asked to approve the nomination of Gregg Tangeman as a Planning & Zoning board member, to replace Dick Cacek. Motion was made by Bentz and seconded by Schoning to approve Gregg Tangeman’s appointment to the Planning & Zoning board. Motion carried with all members present voting aye.

Some discussion was held in regards to funds being used for some projects the school or booster club may have that would benefit the community.
Motion was made by Schoning and seconded by Hawk that only one council meeting be held in January on the third Tuesday. Motion carried with present members voting aye.
A motion to adjourn was made at 7:25 by Bentz and seconded by Hawk. Motion carried with all members voting aye.
