The Ruthven City Council, of the City of
Day of April, 2008, at 6:30 PM, in regular session, in the Council Chambers at City Hall, pursuant to law and to the rules of said council.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor, Charles Oppedal, in the Chair, and the roll being called, the following members were present:
PRESENT: Hawk, Johnson, Henningsen, VerHelst, Schoning.
ABSENT: None.
Henningsen motioned and VerHelst seconded to approve the consent agenda items as presented. Motion carried with all members present voting aye.
Bob Jacobson and Dick Carpenter were present to discuss the Lost Island Golf Course with the council. Concerns were raised in regards to keeping the golf course open as a community asset. Council agreed to discuss the matter more and to try to send a representative to the golf course meeting on Monday, April 7th, to let the committee know what the council decided.
Discussion was held in regards to the pool manager position. Christine informed the council there have been no calls or applications brought in to city hall.
Council discussed checking into getting some community service workers, out of
Councils drive around town to look at nuisance properties was rescheduled to 6:00 PM, Tuesday, April 8th.
Motion was made by VerHelst and seconded by Hawk to reschedule the next regular council meeting from Tuesday, April 15 to Tuesday, April 22nd. Motion carried with all members present voting aye.
Discussion was held in regards to the water tower. The paint test results show a high level of lead in the paint. Jeff will try to have other estimates or options available at the next council meeting.
Summer street repair possibilities were discussed. Jeff will get estimates on other areas discussed before the next council meeting.
A motion to adjourn was made at 7:48 by Hawk and seconded by Schoning. Motion carried with all members voting aye.
