Ruthven celebrated its 125th year in July 2009! The celebration was held in conjunction with our annual Bully Bullhead Weekend July 10-12 2009! Click on the link above to view photos from all of the events!

The Ruthven Quasquicentennial Committee distributed the money it has raised for the past two years through fundraisers and memorabilia sales.  Because of the generosity of those with a soft-spot for Ruthven, the committee was able to donate $8862!  Memorabilia is still for sale and the proceeds will go to the Lost Island Ruthven Betterment Association.  Thank you to everyone who helped by donating time, money, and energy to the celebration!!

Recipients of Funds Through the Ruthven Quasquicentennial Committee:
Ruthven Fire Department ($681 and a Terry Redlin print to be used for fundraising)
Ruthven American Legion ($681)
Lost Island Protective Association ($2500 for the Recreational Trail Project)
Lost Island Ruthven Betterment Association ($2500 to be set aside for future matching grant monies)
$2500 for half of the replacement of Centennial CD to be used for future celebrations

Ruthven Quasqui History Books contain over 300 family biographies, over 100 military veterans, several community photographs! This is a professionally bound book and is a great gift for anyone with ties to Ruthven.  Cost is $50 (shipping is $6).
Ruthven Quasqui Pottery is handcrafted by a potter in Milford, Iowa and was specially designed for the Ruthven Quasquicentennial.  There are assorted styles and prices.  Please call the Picket Fence at 712.837.3383 for details.
